Voice search is quickly taking off as voice assistants like Alexa and Echo become more and more popular. In fact, experts predict 50 percent of all searches will be voice searches. Google Releases Mobile-First Index: Is Your Site Ready?

More than ever, consumers have information readily available at their fingerprints 24/7. With the rise of mobile devices, tablets, and voice-assistants, desktop use is gradually becoming a thing of the past. According to Stone Temple, mobile use in the U.S. surpassed desktop use by an astounding 63 percent in 2017.

Google is taking notice of this trend. As of July 2018, they announced that they will now prioritize the mobile versions of websites over desktop versions in their rankings with a “Mobile-First Index.” If your website is not mobile-friendly, it could now potentially be outranked by competitor sites, or be left out of Google’s new algorithm completely.
